Chacachacare, Ban de SudBay and Salt Pond

Chacachacare Salt Pond. For this hike you must arrange a water taxi service to Chacachacare Island and enquire about getting access from CDA. From the main island jetty at Perique Bay, take the foot trail left along the coastline. Go pass the short trail on the left to the old nuns’ quarters, hospital, and cemetery. These make for good historical site visits and should be visited on the return hike.

Continue inland for 30mins along the overgrown once paved road and over to the other side of the island. The salt pond could be seen from the trail on top. Follow the trail down to the beach. The salt pond is just beyond the beach. Return using the same trail.
